Loren originally joined PayStream back in 2013 as a Compliance Assistant and now works as our Senior HR Advisor. She takes responsibility for employee relations cases, training and development, on-boarding and ad hoc project work. We wanted to find out a little more about Loren and her PayStream journey.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?

I graduated from Leeds university in 2012 with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Business Studies. After a spell in recruitment I was approached by an agency regarding a job at PayStream, within their Compliance team, and 7 years later I’m still here! After working in the Compliance team for nearly 3 years I then moved over to the HR department, where I found my life-long career.

2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?

No two days are the same I can tell you that. As a small team of 3 we strategically manage human resources in line with PayStream’s intended future direction, overseeing recruitment, employee relations, training and development etc.

3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?

PayStream genuinely take interest in staff development and invest in their employees. Thanks to PayStream I am qualified to Level 7 in the HR CIPD qualification.

4. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?

The people and the culture – we are like a big family! I have honestly made some life-long friends here.

5. What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I am the granddaughter of a Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist... but I'm not telling you who because it's embarrassing!!! I also run my own depop shop and recycle any unwanted clothes! In the past year I have only bought second hand clothes.

6. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?

Spending time with friends and family is extremely important to me. I try to travel back home to Lincolnshire as often as I can, especially as my sister runs her own jewellery business (Minimo Jewellery), so I often help out with fares and events she has on. Check out her Instagram and Etsy page, her jewellery is beautiful! Travelling and experiencing different cultures is also a huge passion of mine and I try to travel to new destinations each year. Spending 3 days trekking in the Thai jungles is definitely up there with one of my favourite ever experiences.

Are you a PayStream Person?

We are really proud to say that Loren's PayStream success story is just one of many.  That’s because we understand that our employees are our greatest asset so we put our people at the heart of everything we do.

When recruiting we look for like-minded individuals who will embrace the culture of the company, which is why we've developed a 'PayStream Person' which we believe encapsulates our star performers and therefore, in every new recruit we look for the following qualities: bright, personable, adaptable and a strong work ethic.

So if PayStream sounds like it would be a good fit for you and you are interested in joining the team email careers@paystream.co.uk
