A change is coming and it's time to switch...

For those who don't yet know, changes to off-payroll working in the private sector are coming into effect from April 6th 2021. It means the private sector will essentially fall in line with the off-payroll working changes implemented in the public sector back in 2017, minus a few alterations here and there. As changes go, it's almost as big as Sol Campbell's transfer from Spurs to Arsenal in 2001.

Essentially, the new rules mean that IR35 responsibilities will shift from contractors to the person paying the contractor, which is usually your agency or client. As a result, some sectors, such as finance, have made a decision not to work with limited company contractors in the future.

This means many existing limited company contractors will be required to switch to a PAYE service, such as an umbrella service, in order to continue working as a contractor in these sectors.
