1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?
I’m a compliance officer working on the newly formed IR35 team, where we’re preparing for the incoming reforms to the Private Sector in 2020. I joined PayStream in 2017- prior to that I worked for Stagecoach, where I was responsible for dealing with technical queries relating to Smartcards, refunding faulty megariders, and driving single-deckers around Hackney. Robert Walters introduced me to the role, and I took the Compliance Assistant position as it seemed a logical progression from some of the previous roles I’ve held.
2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?
Varied and busy! At the moment our days consist of developing the IR35 portal, dealing with incoming contract and working practice reviews, and supporting Compliance with compliance stuff.
3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?
It’s a much nicer atmosphere here!
4. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?
I get to spend my working time with some great people, and I feel constantly challenged (in a good way). PayStream has been great at working with me at developing new and existing skills, and I feel like there are lots of opportunities available here to develop a career.
5. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve had some degree of success collaborating on music with a guy who’s based in Ukraine. I’m allergic to Almonds. I recently got quite heavily into Shodo.
6. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?
Rock climbing/bouldering, practising guitar, spending time with my fiancé.
