Daniel joined PayStream’s New Business Team 3 years ago as a New Business Administrator. Since then, he’s worked his way up to become an Onboarding Support Senior, where he assists with any queries that contractors have during the process of joining PayStream. We wanted to find out a little more about Daniel and his PayStream journey.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?

I started at PayStream in 2019. I had just graduated from university, where I studied Sports Business Management and I was looking for a full-time career rather than continuing to work my two part time jobs. My sister worked at an agency and they put me in contact with PayStream, the rest is history!

2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?

It’s very fast paced. In my role I load new enquiries which we have received from contractors onto our system whilst also all of the necessary checks and documents are complete to assist contractors in joining in a timely manner.

I also look after insurance for our PSC contractors, this involves me calling clients and providing them with information on our packages as well as being on hand to answer any queries or questions.

3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?

PayStream are quite flexible with work, especially when it comes to working from home and things like that. Despite the fact there is lots of work to get through, it’s quite a relaxed environment, which I think increases everyone’s motivation.

4. What three words would you use to describe PayStream?

"Supportive, friendly, engaging". It’s this type of approach that I think stands PayStream out from the rest, it certainly makes work enjoyable.

5. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?

The people! Having people around you that you get on with it makes the day go faster and you enjoy coming in to work.

6. What would people be surprised to learn about you?

Just after I graduated from university, I had a part time job working at the BBC. I used to watch football matches and clip parts of the match and send it off to an archive. The clips I made would be used by producers for shows such as Football Focus and Match of the Day (I was literally paid to watch football)!

7. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?

I enjoy watching Manchester City and having a pint with my mates down the pub. However I do also like going on long walks, I absolutely love the Lake District.
