PayStream score a hat-trick in The Contracting Awards 2020

On Thursday 4th November we did what no other provider has done before and scooped a trio of awards at The Contracting Awards 2020.

Not only did we retain the Best Contractor Accountancy award for the second year running, but we also walked away with Best Umbrella Company and Best Contractor Innovation for our IR35 Comply service.

Each entry was extremely competitive and we were up against some stiff competition from many other service providers, so we are absolutely delighted with this achievement.

It has been a very tough year for everyone which is what makes these awards even more special. Our aim, as a business, is to be the best provider of accountancy and payroll services in our market and these awards are proof that we are well on the way to achieving our goal.

This is what the Contracting Awards judges had to say about why PayStream were the chosen winners:

  1. Best Contractor Innovation - IR35 Comply was an outstanding innovation in a crowded market that really fulfils the need for contractors.
  2. Best Umbrella Company (Over 1,500) - PayStream have shown an excellent level of customer service which was really reflected in their customer reviews
  3. Best Contractor Accountancy (Over 2,500 clients) – They were really impressed with the wide range of resources which are both positive and supportive for contractors and noted how this is now complimented by our IR35 Comply portal.

This isn’t the first time our focus on delivering exceptional customer service has been recognised and it certainly won’t be the last. We’ve been winning awards since 2011 and have more recently received the highest award ever given by a Customer Service Excellence (CSE) Assessor in our latest CSE review. We’ve also taken our Investors in People (IiP) award one step further as now hold the; We invest in people, Gold accreditation, something that only 18% of IiP members achieve.

Paul Malley, Managing Director said:

“No matter how much knowledge we believe we have, there is always something new to learn. That’s why we continue to work with external parties such as BDO, Saffery Champness and Customer Service Excellence to review our processes and challenge the way we do things. We constantly challenge ourselves as a business to do better by regularly asking for feedback from our contractors and clients to make sure that we are focusing our efforts on improving the things that make a difference.”

Our sector doesn’t sit still for long and neither do we. We are always looking for ways in which we can share our knowledge and expertise so that it benefits those using our services. The development of our IR35 Comply service is a great example of that. We’ve been providing IR35 reviews for around 20 years now and we also develop our own software, so it made sense to bring the two competencies together.

Paul went onto say;

“We don’t take our position in the market as one of the leading providers of accountancy and umbrella services lightly. Awards such as these prove that we are on the right path but there is always more that can be done, especially in our sector where legislation is constantly evolving. This is why we continue to invest in our processes and systems as well as the knowledge of our staff, to ensure that we continue to maintain the highest standards in the market.”
