Dan joined PayStream’s finance team a couple of years ago as a Purchase Ledger Assistant. Dan’s role is unique in that he interacts with all departments within the company in order to manage the monthly departmental budgets. We wanted to find out more about Dan and his journey with PayStream so far.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?

I very much enjoy travelling and discovering new places - there are so many places on my bucket list. I’m also a huge Man United fan and I’m still optimistic that the glory days will return again soon! I came to PayStream because I was looking for a new challenge and the Purchase Ledger Assistant role was exactly what I was looking for and it was an excellent choice if I do say so myself. I haven’t looked back since.

2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?

First let me just say that no two days are ever the same for me. I manage the purchase ledger for PayStream as well as liaising with all of the PayStream managers to ensure that their monthly management accounts run smoothly. I also oversee a lot of what goes on with our umbrella company accounts which is something that I particularly enjoy doing.

3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?

My previous workplace was a good place to work, however there are a couple of things which really make PayStream stand out. Everyone is really positive and passionate about what they do. I know I am always well supported by my team but I’m also encouraged to work independently which has really helped to build up my confidence professionally. This is why PayStream is so special in my eyes.

4. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?

I’m sure others have given this answer before, but it’s the people for me! Everyone here makes PayStream what it is and I believe that’s why we all love coming into work. It helps to create a friendly environment which shapes the culture of the company.

5. What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I’m not sure if it’s a surprise or not but most of my time is taken up with anything to do with sports, whether it's watching it on the TV or booking tickets for the next live sporting event - I was devastated when COVID called off Euro 2020.

6. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym, playing cricket and getting in as many rounds of golf as I can before the dark days of winter set in. As mentioned earlier, I’m a huge football fan and love watching my beloved Manchester United play week in week out, hopefully we'll make it into the Europa League again this year. Away from sports, I love spending some quality time with my mates down the pub.

Are you a PayStream Person?
