We are just one month away from seeing one of the biggest legislation changes of 2018 being rolled out.GDPR is the new legislation that supersedes the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998 and goes live on the 25th May 2018. The intention of the new legislation is to ensure the safety of personal data in the modern, technological world that we now live in.
If you think back to the technology we used back in 1998 when the DPA was implemented compared to now things have changed massively, which is why this change was needed. Even so, getting prepared for this new legislation has not come without its challenges and at PayStream we have spent a significant amount of time making sure our systems and processes adhere to the new legislation. That's why in this month's newsletter we provide our advice on some of the main things you need to consider when implementing GDPR successfully in your recruitment business.
And finally we also share with you the latest initiative from PRISM and The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group; the working through an umbrella company factsheet. There has been lots of bad press over the last couple of years surrounding the use of umbrella companies, mainly due to a lack of understanding of how umbrella companies actually work. For this reason we always welcome and support any initiatives that educate contractors on umbrella companies.
