The start of 2014 brings with it an ever increasing optimistic outlook to the UK job market as the economy slowly seems to be recovering, with significant growth in manufacturing, construction, and property.
The growth in new vacancies has now overtaken job applications for the first time in five years, with the overall job index currently standing at 172 which is a sharp increase from 138 at the beginning of 2013.
The previous 12 months has seen optimistic growth in all industries with property and construction experiencing significant development with an increase in construction jobs by 74%. The recent government initiatives that were launched to boost building and infrastructure projects could be the reason for this.
The UK has seen job growth across most regions, with Northern Ireland being the only region to have experienced a job market decline. However, at the other end of the spectrum, Scotland has seen the most substantial growth in recent months.
This continued growth in the UK economy could spell major opportunities for the recruitment industry.
