HM Revenue and Customs will be sending out new tax codes for the 2014- 2015 tax year during January, February and March.
During these months you may receive a PAYE coding notice from HMRC with information on your new tax code for the new financial year 2014-2015. You could be subject to multiple tax codes if you;
Starting from the 6th April 2014 your new tax code will be used in order to ensure you are paying the right amount of tax. It is possible that you may receive a new PAYE tax code with every job or additional pension. There is also the possibility that you won’t receive a PAYE tax code notice, but don't worry, your employer or pension provider will still have the ability to update your code before the start of the new financial year.
HMRC will be in contact with your employer and/or pension provider informing them of your new code so you will not need to do this. If you are unsure if your code has been updated be sure to contact your employer to double check that your new code is in place. You can now access your new tax code online if you are enrolled in the Self-Assessment online submission portal.
