Jamie-Lee initially joined PayStream’s New Business Team several years ago as a New Business Administrator. After years of building her industry knowledge and working her way through the PayStream ranks, she is now one of our most experienced Client Relationship Managers. Jamie-Lee is responsible for managing interactions with some of our key agencies, answering any queries they may have as well as advising on IR35 legislation. We wanted to find out a little more about Jamie-Lee and her PayStream journey so far.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?

The opportunity to learn and develop my career within the New Business department really stood out to me. Working in such a fast paced environment is something which really suits my skill set and is one of the key reasons I’ve stayed at PayStream.

2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?

It’s always very busy but luckily PayStream is such a flexible employer. Hybrid working allows me to have a good balance of being physically in the office alongside my colleagues, as well as being out on the road, catching up with existing clients, or meeting new ones. When I’m in the office I’m helping to resolve and amend processes to better our relationships with our agencies. But when I’m on the road, my day can be anything from delivering training sessions and focus groups on legislation to presenting the benefits of PayStream’s offerings and what would suit each client and their contractor’s needs. It’s safe to say there is never a dull day at PayStream.

3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?

PayStream play to your strengths, which makes you feel valued as an employee. They target what you’re good at and look at ways to improve yourself but also how your specific skillset can add value amongst the team and company.

4. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?

I love the fact that I manage my own workload and my week is planned how I would like it to be. One of the most reassuring factors is there is also constant support available to me and the rest of the team should it be needed.

5. What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I actually have a master’s degree in politics, most people I’ve told that to would never have guessed. Don’t forget to brush up on your knowledge before you come to me for a debate about the government!

6. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym and keeping up my fitness by challenging myself to morning runs. I also like horse riding.

Are you a PayStream Person?

We are really proud to say that Jamie-Lee’s PayStream success story is just one of many.  That’s because we understand that our employees are our greatest asset so we put our people at the heart of everything we do.

When recruiting we look for like-minded individuals who will embrace the culture of the company, which is why we've developed a 'PayStream Person' which we believe encapsulates our star performers and therefore, in every new recruit we look for the following qualities: bright, personable, adaptable and a strong work ethic.

So if PayStream sounds like it would be a good fit for you and you are interested in joining the team email careers@paystream.co.uk
