IT contractors' recovery underway

Get Adobe Flash player New figures have shown that the demand for IT contractors is very much on the up.

The stats, from CW Jobs, reveal that overall IT contractor hires shot up by 11 per cent in the first half of this year, compared to 2009. The big growth has been in the software, financial and retail sectors, all of which saw double-figure increases.

This comes as IT recruiters JM Group revealed that some IT contractors are able to play potential clients off against each other in order to provide the best possible return.

Putting it into figures, the recruiters noted that a number of contractors had been able to realise increases of 20 per cent, whilst one actually managed to get his pay offer increased by 65 per cent.ADNFCR-3319-ID-19914286-ADNFCR
